2006
 |
In 2006, the official website of the Rovers was given an upgrade in the looks department, as well as new features. |
2005
 |
The Hampton Rovers website was given another fresh new look in 2005. As well as this, the site was given many new enhancements in terms of content, features and security. |
2004
 |
A new look in 2004 and many enhancements. The main addition was the new online membership system. This allows users to subscribe to the site and view members-only sections, receive the eNewsletter, and more. This also allows, for example, full senior player stats to be only accessible by senior players.
Members are able to view the members list and view profiles of other members, see who's currently online and browsing the site, and update their details.
Other improvements included a new links section and improved history section. |
2003
 |
The bulk of the work was done 'behind the scenes' in preparation for the 2003 season. The Rovers became the first local footy club to have a fully database-driven dynamic website. The mySQL database manages all the news, events, fixtures, results, goal kickers, best players, player stats, and more. This resulting in making the site more efficient and attractive. |
2002
 |
Again, a fresh new design was implemented in 2002 along with a number of new features. The site took on the look and feel of a more professional website.
Limited database functionality was introduced with the use of Microsoft Access for player stats/profiles, goals and team lists. |
2001
 |
2001 saw another new design for the site. Frames were removed and the general layout of the site was improved.
After using free web hosts since the commencement of the site, the club purchased the hamptonrovers.com.au domain name and web hosting.
A number of new features were introduced in 2001, including the Forum - a message board which has become one of the most popular features of the site. |
2000
 |
The new design for the website in 2000 was quite a breakthrough for the time. The site was given quite a professional look and made use of frames. A number of new pages were introduced to provide visitors with everything they need to know about the club.
All the hard work was worth it, as the site was officially the most visited non-AFL club website in Australia (source: Hitwise.com.au). |
